The first of a range of premium quality varietal wines from smaller Chilean producers, the Puro Chile Merlot is sourced from the Wichan Small Growers group. The name ‘Wichan’ means ‘partners’ in Mapududun, the language of the local Mapuche people, and neatly encapsulates the co-operative spirit of their enterprise.

The ripe fruit aromas and deep, translucent colour promise much, and the supple palate delivers in abundance. Sweet berry & stonefruit flavours are set off by gentle, rounded tannins and a long, smooth finish. The wine is soft and elegant and does not require food to show well, but it is also savoury and robust enough to match with meaty dishes, pasta and barbecued food.
